SN#1_Workshop: steel mast

en | Wednesday 6th of June: Dirk, the captain that we met yesterday in ADM invite us to come back again. His friend Franz is working on a self-made steel mast…

en | The area is still quiet when I arrive. I sit in on the river bank, in front of Dirk’s shelter. As I begin to sketch his anvil, the sound of Dirk’s piano emerges. When he comes out, we discuss again about boats, living on water and light housing, free use of space and common good.

fr | Puis Franz arrive.
en | Then arrives Franz. He is replacing the wooden mast of his old army boat: from two steel cylinder, they cut, weld and shape the metal…

en | Franz’s ship has to be ready to sail next week: with their band, they are sailing for a festival to Terschelling, an island in the North Netherlands. And the end of the day, the mast is transported on board and attach to its axes!
